On the 16th of May, I set off on a journey that has been sitting on the horizon for a long time—first to South Africa’s legendary Kruger National Park, and then onward to the wild, otherworldly landscapes of Madagascar. For the next six weeks, my world will revolve around early light, long lenses, and the exciting anticipation of what might appear next.
Kruger is a place where every rustle in the grass can turn into something unforgettable. Lions at dawn, elephants moving like shadows through the bush, the sudden flash of a leopard disappearing into the trees—these are the moments you can’t plan, only hope to be ready for.
And then, Madagascar.
A land that feels almost imagined. Creatures found nowhere else on Earth—lemurs leaping through ancient forests, chameleons that seem too intricate to be real, and landscapes that shift from lush rainforest to surreal, sculpted stone. It looks like a photographer’s dream, not just because of the wildlife, but because of how different everything feels. New light, new textures, new stories.
This blog will be a “watch this space” as the journey begins.
I’ll be sharing images along the way—moments as they happen, glimpses into the wild encounters, the quiet pauses, and the unexpected scenes that make trips like this so compelling. Some will, hopefully, be a little dramatic, some subtle, but all will be part of yet another wonderful, photographic journey.
There’s something really powerful about not knowing exactly what I’ll find. That sense of possibility is what draws me in every time—the idea that the next frame could be the one I’ve been waiting for.
